Saturday
Harriet had a great day today while I was sleeping. She hung out with her little friend madeline, they went to their friend Ollie's birthday at the butterfly farm, on a bus ride and to see Peter Pan at the theatre. Apparently Harriet needs to work on her sitting still and being quiet during the performance skills but she had a great time anyway. See pics below

the rest of our week
miss harriet continued to be sick resulting in a doctors visit, a set of blood tests for which she just lay limply in my arms, alot of sleep for her and not so much for us and a diagnosis of viral pnuemonia...however she is better today and she did manage her fairy dance class. Most of the class have alot of long blonde hair and very pink dresses, harriet chose a lime green fairy dress and we can just get her hair up in a little knot on top because that is' how you have to wear fairy hair mummy' . The class is taken by Mrs Rodgers however Harriet will not call her anything but Mr Rodgers and is quite convinced she lives 24/7 at the fairy dance class hall, reinforced by the fact that her car which has fairies on it is always parked outside when we arrive. The classes are very cute with my little completely flatfooted (thankyou grandad Harjeet) heffalump doing lots of walking on tiptoes and ballet moves. I would post photos only parents get to sit in another room and watch via a live video feed so as not to distract the fairies. Apparently there is a show in september with full costume and makeup, I suspect the little fairies make a brief appearance and most of the show is the older Ballet girls but Harriet will be up for a show I'm sure. Now if we try to sing a song she just says 'no..you're not in the show, be quiet'.
Miss Isabella is enjoying her second term at school. She is learning alot of spoken and written Maori and doing year 8 maths which finally seems to be providing enough challenge for her (she is yr 6). Sadly..or not...saturday morning netball won't be happening and they are playing other teams at friday lunchtime instead. Apparently there are two many teams wanting to play and one of the venues has closed down. She is really enjoying Sax also and can play quite a few tunes and they don't sound like a strangled animal as the recorder always did.
We are hoping for an illness free next week.

sickling
poor Harriet has been a sick little possum or pukeko the last two days. The grans had the girls overnight saturday so we could have a birthday dinner party and go clubbing which was fantastic. Unfortunately gran did not have such a fantastic night with the human hot water bottle in her bed. Harriet spiked a fever and kept gran awake and very warm all night. Last night we were treated to the same thing despite regular doses of pamol. Today I knew my little energiser bunny still wasn't right, she crawled into my bed at 10am, slept till 11am, had a drink than slept till 1230, unheard of in the girl who runs round at full speed from morning till evening. I left her sitting on the couch watching Hi5 this evening and by the time I had put a pot of water on for pasta and opened the sauce she was sound asleep sittting up. She has a streaming nose and nasty cough so think it is just a preschool virus, hopefully ang is having a better night with her tonight as I am at work. A very pathetic little voice keeps telling me "I need pamol to feel me better cos I'm too hot".

happy birthday
It was my birthday yesterday and I had a wonderful day despite having come off a night duty. When I got home the girls had presents and cards, Harriet's off course had a pukeko and an owl drawn on it. Unbeknown to me Ang and Ella had a deal that after I had tucked her in and left for work the night before she was allowed to get up and make me a cake so I also had a birthday cake ready and waiting and Harriet got to sing her first Happy Birthday of the day. After dropping ella at school we went to breakfast at a local cafe than to Harriets swim lesson than back to mum and barbs for more pressies and lunch. Following that it was a visit to sarah, kahi and sol and more fabulous cards made by the boys. After getting ella from school we went to my friend Megans for birthday afternoon tea. Harriet was very pleased as all day she had been asking when we would go to my happy birthday party and despite me explaining big people didn't have the same kind of parties she wasn't convinced. When Megan produced a large iced chocolate cake with lots of candles she got to help blow out I think she was finally happy. Gerri took the girls for the night so Ang and I grabbed dinner and a movie which is a real treat for us. We saw Dear Frankie which was gorgeous....all in all a great day with family and friends even if Harriet was still a bit miffed there was no game of pass the parcel.

Mothers Day Weekend
We have had a bit of a party weekend. Isabella has treated us to breakfast in bed both mornings for mothers day, scones and jam one morning, pikelets and jam the next, plus she entertained her small sister so we could sleep in. Saturday night we had a combined dinner for sila's birthday, my birthday and mothers day. The grans brought a fabulous frozen desert cake which the small people were very impressed with. Sunday the girls went to two parties for 3yr olds. The first was a fairy party at the local fairy shop, the second a mermaid party. The little kids love it when Isabella comes to a party, she is like the pied piper with them all following her around and the adults love it too, we all get some time to sit around talking with the kids entertained. Isabella had a whole room of them doing dance moves and playing statues tonight. Have posted some pics of the party outfits and harriet all fill of parties with her PJs on and a new pink fluffy coat she got given. After the second party we all stayed on for fish and chips.
Hope everyone else had a Great Mothers Day Weekend.

Harriets first proposal
Harriet had her little friend sarah to play on monday,we know sarah through our rainbow families group plus she andHarriet are at the same daycare for one day a week.
Tonight sarah's mum sent me this text
'sarah has just announced that harriet is her best friend and she wants to marry her'
I texted back shall we go for traditional white or big punjabi wedding?
The answer from Sarah was
'big punjabi wedding, shall we do it next week or should we wait till we are five?'
too cute
