my last two items for KCWC

this vintage pattern to make a black pencil skirt for Isabella

and my challenge for this round, making a fully lined jacket with a Zip front

having done it I'm not sure why I had always put lined jackets and coats in the too hard basket

I used some vintage wool gifted to me by a friend and teamed it up with some thrifted tartan and lined it with a mushroom print

it was perfect for a cold Autumn morning

Aotearoa Is Not For Sale

Saturday we joined 10,000 others in marching up Queen Street in protest at John Key's government and it's plan to sell off State Owned Assets...as one of the banners read

 "Oi John The eighties called, they want their failed policies back"

Harriet and her friend spent the morning making their banners

we headed down to the march with our neighbors

Sewing for Miss Harriet

2 years ago during a KCWC I made her a tunic which became a favourite but really is too small now

her request this time another tunic with gathered sleeves and low waist

this one in a vintage brushed cotton

I think it will work as a dress this winter and go over leggings next winter

and a wee upcycle project from a thrifted Maxi Dress

giving her a skirt and tunic
