What We Wore

Sunday Miss Isabella and I headed to the Auckland Vintage Textile Fair
this was our second year of going and we both found some great things, we each have a vintage $20 dress, Isabella has a fabulous skirt and some very cool $5 sunglasses and I found an amazing vintage jacket for Billy. There was very little in the way of boys things, in fact aside from this I only found a few baby outfits so I was very pleased to find something in his size.

We both dressed up and although she is much taller then me the 2inch heels definitely made it seem more so when we posed for these pics although I am very happy to have some nice photos of us together.

Arlo to preschool this morning. If there was a soundtrack to this it would be Arlo saying "I really, really want to go home right now". He goes to a fantastic daycare and usually loves it but since being sick he has not been so keen on the drop offs.

Overalls- retro Oshkosh $2 from Trademe.
If these look vaguely familiar it is because he also has a long pair which I love and were originally Isabellas' and found in a 2nd hand Kids shop in San Francisco in 1990, so when I saw these I grabbed them.
Stacy at Hart and Sew also has a pair in this pattern in her shop which are super cute and would probably be coming my way if they were bigger then a 12M size. BoY MONdAY

We walked home from school via our local community garden





Arlo demanded to know "where is Mama...what you done with him" so aside from working on his use of pronouns I thought we better have lunch with Mama but there was time for a trip to the Zoo first

we arrived in time to see the animals having morning tea


and enjoying some morning sun


chicken chasing was Arlo's favourite activity


as well as a long time checking out this digger


although he did think the red panda was pretty cute




a little play in the kids zone and we headed to lunch, he stayed awake till he saw Ang and in the 5 mins it took us to get up the road to the cafe he was sound asleep so Ang got a snuggly sleeping boy to hold for almost an hour...he really wasn't that impressed we dropped her back to work only 10 mins after he woke up

Weekend Roundup

Friday morning we had a bit of a sad small boy who is still recovering from the nasty flu bug we have all had

but luckily he was cheered up by a big helium heart balloon Peter pulled down from the atrium ceiling in Alleluya for him


and a small torch from Iko Iko



Saturday morning saw us heading to the Botanical Gardens to check out the spring displays and the new children's garden

Saturday night we joined our friend Thomas for his 11th birthday tea

Sunday after a visit to Kraftbomb Harriet and her friend set up a little homemade lemonade stand outside our house


their lemonade mix was really good and they soon had a crowd of neighbours lining up to buy some


the perfect end to our weekend was homemade by Ang, from scratch starting with the chicken stock, Corn and Chicken Chowder and some home made bread
