Sol had a ball at his birthday dinner, despite being exhausted from the 6.15 start the smalls had after the sleepover he shimmied, danced and laughed and was a total star. Due to the fact that I had a blonde moment and didn't check the camera batteries there are only a few pics as the camera kept dying at the vital moment however we did manage a shot of the wiggles cake.

Solomon is Two

our smallest boy is two this week. Today we went to Chipmunks for a birthday treat with Kahi, Sol, Harriet, and Jake. They had a great time, see pics below. Saturday is his family birthday dinner so will post some pics than as well. Isabella and I are on making a Wiggles Big Red Car cake for the boy and we get to go shopping for a musical toy for him...yes beleive it or not Sarah did request this. Tomorrow night the boys are coming to stay so Harriet is very excited to have her cousins for a sleep over although she might be a little miffed when they are not all sleeping in her bed which she seems to think is the go.

The Queens Birthday

a conversation with Harriet today

H. why is there no swimming today
M. because it's a holiday
H. why
M. it's Queens Birthday
H. wow the queens birthday what kind of cake will she have?
M. a corgi ( realising I might regret this)
H. oh will the queen have party bags at her party, what time are we going
M. we can't go to the queens birthday because she lives along way away at the palace
H. the palace, will we play pass the parcel at the queens party

and so started a days worth of conversation about the queens birthday and what she would have there. Harriet periodically asked what time we were going and wasn't to be put off by any of my explanantions about the difficulties of attending a party at Buckingham Palace. Finally I persuaded her with

M. only the queens children can go to her party
H. oh but will the queen have party bags for her children

when Ang got home Harriet explained to her we couldn't go to the queens party because only her children could. Next time I may go with the explanation 'it's a public holiday'

thought I would share some of the great art work adorning our walls. Kahi has drawn Harriet some fantastic pukekos, one of Isabella's from a one day school topic and two from Harriet who has just started drawing people, the two pictured were an early morning art effort from Harriet who brought them to us in bed complete with pins so they could be hung up immediately.
