It started nicely with being able to walk to school with Isabella due to a mid term holiday for her
than we found this cool 'hotwheels' retro truck on the way to the library
while Billy likes to walk to the library so he can walk along all the walls
on the way home (that would be the way with all the uphills) he prefers to sit in the pushchair and read his new books
although he did hop out at the party shop to make a list of things 'I absolutely will need for my birthday Halloween monster mash disco party'.. and yes it isn't till December and we do have actual Halloween first, but currently this is what he is planning...I figure at least some of his wish list will be on sale cheap after Halloween.
After lunch he had a few changes of plan but finally settled on going to the park to look for spring things so while Arlo napped in the sunshine in his pushchair Billy led a little expedition around Western Springs park
starting with showing me his newly acquired skill...skipping
first up was spring flowers
and checking out lots of little paths
a hidden bit of lake
than the eel bridge
he consulted his new amphibian library book in case we should see some
but baby birds were the order of the day
and met the criteria for spring things
we spent a long time watching these babies balance on bits of plant than jump off into the water
encouraged by their parents
as Arlo had missed the park we popped next door to the Zoo when he woke up
and checked out the 'roar roars'
although I wasn't allowed to put him down to take his photo with one
next stop afternoon tea...very healthy hot chips and a hokey pokey & caramel milkshake...but it made two small boys very happy
our favourite today were the Orangutans who we haven't seen playing for ages
after collecting Hattie from Soccer
there was some time with cinnamon in the back garden which is well overdue for a big tidy up
