coming round the other side of National Park
we headed to Rotorua
where the small people were very excited
to discover our own giant spa bath
the next morning we headed to the
thermal wonderland of
for a look around
beautiful lake Ngakoro
with view down to the mountain
Arlo was pretty impressed with boiling mud
and steaming hot pools
to add to his volcanic exploring
after this we headed to Waikite
to some little thermal hot pools
where the boiling stream feeding them ran along the back
our last day we went to Rainbow Springs
turns out Monday is a good day to go
you can ride the log flume over and over
we headed home having had a fabulous holiday
catching up with some lovely people
and playing tourists in our own country
it was nice to take each day so slowly
and not be rushing to destinations
next time we are thinking maybe a
South Island Road Trip
