Mummy & Harriet Day

I decided last year that each of the smalls

could have a day off school each year to spend just with me

we did a day for Billy around his birthday

 but with Harriet's running into the last school hols

I thought we should get her day in 

before the next hols start on Monday

so we set off this morning

to check out the new pop up winter skate rink in Aotea Square

there were hardly any others there for the first hour

so Harriet got her confidence up

then she could do it without holding on

although Paradise Ice Rink

brought back memories of many a youth group 

Friday night excursions

and bad pop music

luckily my skating ability was remembered too

as I was worried I would end up on my butt

after two hours of skating we retired for hot chocolates

then Harriet's request was to snuggle up and watch DVDs

perfect plan for a cold afternoon

she finished her day by helping me cook dessert

BoY MOnDay

we bundled up warm today

and took a walk up to the Hospital

to meet up with Billy

as Te Uru Karaka were performing for 

Starship's Matariki celebrations

Kapahaka is probably Billy's favorite thing at school

he takes it very seriously

you can tell he puts his heart and soul into the performances

all the tamariki were amazing

and there were a lot of proud parents watching

I will try post some little videos

Arlo and I took a slow stroll home

even checking out the oppy

some wall balancing

and a wee nap on the way to school pick up

Harriet had a playdate

so the boys did some baking

and bowl cleaning

Little Bits of the Weekend

We had another lovely weekend

with very mellow days

PJ's stayed on till the afternoon on Saturday

Ang got to read, I got to sew

and small boys played happily all day

Ang and I went out both nights, here on Friday

and to an amazing Japanese restaurant, Ebisu with friends on Sat

Billy and I delivered it up to Kingsland on Saturday afternoon

and stopped for afternoon tea and some rainbow spotting

this skater girl headed off to Nanarie's for a sleepover

the clothes were her pick when we went shopping last weekend

and  some cool faux Docs

Sunday afternoon

more tattoos

and a lovely fire 

thanks to Nanarie bringing back not only Harriet but some firewood

we also enjoyed lemons from a friend's tree

with pancakes for Sunday tea
