Arlo's request was to ride the train today

you might have noticed that in nearly every picture of him he is holding

a small treasure of some kind

it can vary from week to week or even day to day

the last few days it has been the small wooden ladder from the knight castle

we had 15 mins before the train so popped into St Vinnies

and found another bag of very small treasures for 50c

 tiny Thunderbirds

we caught the train to the Domain

stopped at the playground on the corner

before heading over to explore a carpet of yellow we spotted from across the road

climb some trees

and show me how Ducks Quack

discover birds like Caramel Popcorn as much as Arlo

but if you give it all to them there is none for you

which isn't so good

discover fish at the Wintergardens

and that very small Thunderbirds fit perfectly into Statue's mouths

a walk back through the leaves to the bus stop

and time for a fluffy and some playing

before a walk through the school forest

with this lovely boy

Weekend Adventures

this weekend 

Ang and I have had a Game of Thrones 1st Series Marathon

the boy's Dad has been sick so they have spent the whole weekend with us 

which has been really lovely

Harriet has had her friend Isabelle spend all weekend hanging out with us

we snuggled the small people up in sleeping bags Saturday night 

and watched the Muppets Movie with Popcorn

we have also had some great outdoors adventures 

Friday morning walk with Arlo

Saturday afternoon we headed to Fort Takapuna

an old 1890's set of building above Narrowneck beach

the small people were quite convinced there were ghosts here

which made it more exciting

Sunday we took Billy to his swim lesson 

then met up with friends at Longbay Reserve 

for a picnic lunch and some playing
