We were so proud of our lovely girl today. A few weeks ago she came up with the idea of having a baking sale, initially she thought outside our house would be good but I suggested that maybe getting her class involved and having one at school would be better, she just needed to decide what to do with the money. She decided the Auckland City Mission Christmas Appeal would be good. She talked to her teacher who was fully supportive of her idea then stood up and talked to her class, than last Friday stood up at assembly in front of the whole school and told them all about the sale and the Auckland City Mission and the work they do to help people with food and shelter and clothing and how the Christmas appeal helps families who don't have enough food or any presents for xmas.
Her whole class brought baking in today and the class next to hers joined in selling Milo.
Children could bring money or a can of food to exchange for some yummy xmas themed morning tea

there was a mad rush and we sold everything
Ang helped the class add up the money and they made an amazing $228.50 to give the Mission as well as 55 cans of food for the foodbank.
Well done ruma 7 & 8 on an awesome effort in helping others in your community and especially Harriet for such a fabulous idea.
