L is for Lions and Lines on Leggings

 boys leggings aren't so easy to find here

I can find lots of lovely ones on Etsy

but with shipping they are at least $40 a pair

Chasing Will does have some cool ones which I am going to order

but I wanted to have a go at making some myself

these 3 pairs cost $14 all up

these ones are a basic legging 

the fabric has Lions and Horses

the next pair have chevron Lines

a soft waistband and little cuffs

I think I have to practice lining up my centre seam stripes

but you can't really tell when they are on

I made these a bit longer so he gets more wear

the final pair I made from the 2 left over pieces of fabric

Lines on the front and Lions on the back

these ones are a Sarouel pant

also with some growing room

the first 2 pairs are from this pattern

and the bottom pair an adaption of this pattern

Weekly Vintage

I have been helping Arlo's class

with their weekly swim lessons

which seemed a perfect opportunity to wear 

this vintage beach cape

which I brought in a Toast Clothing sale

the retro togs are thrifted

and the vintage skirt is from the Raglan Oppy

I especially love the pompom trim

Miss Harriet in an 80s top and a Heartfelt headband

Billy and Arlo off to school in hand made shorts

from thrifted material

 

I'm trying to make the most of this hot weather

by getting Otis into all the wee sunsuits

I have thrifted for 50c - $1

this wee romper shirt and bloomers

were also an Oppy find

the retro blanket was given to me by a work colleague

he's so cute

and hard to photograph before he moves

Pride Parade

Saturday night we headed to the Pride Parade

and took part in a Rainbow Families float

 Harriet's wee friend joined us

our smallest fairy

waiting to head out

the fabulous Mika

practicing their dance moves

 

Otis beamed the whole way along

and charmed the crowds
