Sew All 26 - S is for Snuggly Sheets

I'm coming back to R
as I really needed to get these made
Fitted Flannelette Snuggly Sheets
I used this tutorial
and they took about 10 mins each

all made up ready for the small boy
sadly they did not encourage him to spend all night in his cot
but at least his bed is snuggly when he first hops in

Handmade Kids Clothing Swap

this month I took part in the
Handmade Kids Clothing Swap
my swap partner was Tahlia Christine
who wanted winter clothes for her baby Margaret
I was quite excited to make some little girls clothes
and followed her brief of florals
I made a wee peasant top from some vintage brushed cotton
with some ric rac round the hem
and another wee pair of the
I also popped in a wee pair of these gorgeous knitted pants
the Mt Roskill Oppy has been selling them for $1
which seems ridiculous for brand new pants with so much work
Otis is getting a lot of wear from his pairs over wee tights
so I thought they might go well with the wee top
In return Otis was sent this fabulous sweatshirt
with a wee lion appliqué
lots of pics below from our adventures today

thanks Talia
we love it
and thanks Jen from Mend and Make New
for organising the swap

The Hottie Project...and my SewAll26 Q is for a Quintet of Quilted Hottie Covers

I read about the Hottie Project last year
so was excited to join in this year
you can read all about it here on Big Little Blog
but the aim is to make Hottie Covers
with KidsCan providing the hot water bottles
and distributing to kids in Christchurch
I  also made it my Q project for SewAll26
as making one to represent each of my small people made a Quintet
I used blanket scraps
and embroidered felt animals onto them
I did the small people's favourite animals
(and picked one for Otis)
the Hottie pattern is available if you sign up to join in
a Fox for Otis
as little fox is one of his nick names

A Kiwi for Billy

An Owl for Harriet

A Wolf for Arlo
and an Orca for Isabella
there is still time to join in
The care parcel will be sent to Christchurch at the end of the month
but any received after that will be distributed to West Auckland Kids
