Naming Day

sunday was Billy's naming day and we were lucky enough to have friends and family join us to celebrate and welcome him. My wonderful mum Dorreen, Billy's Gran took the ceremony while Isabella held him. We spoke to him about what his names meant, what we wished for his life and welcomed him to our family. His dad's family travelled from down country so he had his uncle, great aunt, grandparents and great grandmother as well. His nana had written a lullaby just for him which she sang to him. We were also lucky to have Robyn whose dad ,my uncle Bill he is named after. We planted a pohutukawa tree over his placenta and had a special song for him. It was a wonderful way to welcome him.
