both Kahi and Harriet had been to friends parties today and as Kahi explained when he came to visit "there was far too much sugar in my party bag", ditto for Harriet's. They wanted Hi5 on and then came some very hectic High Energy dancing as they worked off their sugar rushes...pics below.
Harriet has alternated between clingy and ever so slightly not well behaved in the days leading up to Ang going and the last 2 days. When you are largely pregnant and it is hot a 'I just need to be right on top of you' 3yr old is not the best so it was nice to have a visit from a cousin and one of her friends yesterday. However I did wonder if we had been letting her see too much reality TV yesterday. Her little friend threw a huge hissy fit/tantrum at her mother with shouting and finger pointing and Harriet went over to her, put her hands on her hips and in her best Super Nanny accent said "that behaviour is not asseptable".

our latest project...

well actually we started earlier in the year with the aim of having it done for her birthday so it has only been another 8 months in the finishing. Instead we decided we would get her quilt done in time to give her before Ang left. It has all her favourites owls, fairies and of course pukekoes plus some Indian elephants which she is calling her Diwali elephants, and pukeko and owl fabric on the borders and back. She was really excited to get it and has even asked me to tuck her under it during the day. the last two nights at bedtime we have had to look at all the things on it and talk about them.

Summertime....

as you can probably tell it was a gorgeous weekend. More pics of the smalls below, iceblocks in the park and water fun in the backyard. We went to get the paddling pool out but it was unable to be inflated so we made do with the sprinkler from it and a large container of water. The sound track to these pics would be squeals of glee from Sol and Harriet everytime they got wet and not so delighted squeals from Isabella and Kahi when Harriet or Sol picked up the sprinkler and got them wet....they have such different personalities. Last weekend when I announced I would take them to the park Isabella immediately went to the kitchen and packed up drinks and snacks, Kahi said "but what if it rains" and Sol and Harriet ran straight to the front door ready to go.

More karekare pics

as it is Ang's last weekend before leaving we asked the girls what they wanted to do..they picked a picnic lunch at Karekare. They got to pick their favourite foods- watermelon and strawberries and we headed out to a beautiful sunny day. As it's my favourite place to go it's nice it seems to have turned into the girls favourite as well. Some pics below including a family shot and an updated belly pic.
