Bake Stall

for the 4th year

Harriet's class held a Christmas Bake Sale

to raise money for the

Auckland City Mission Xmas Appeal

you can read about how Harriet came up with the idea

for the first one here

(the children look so much smaller)

as well as the Reindeer Noses

we made these wee cupcakes

and gingerbread biscuits

the children can bring

 a can of food or a gold coin to swap for some baking

adding it all up gave Harriet a chance to practice some maths

a quick delivery to Billy's class

of a Gingerbread House

which was donated

and his class bid on

(they have been raising money by selling iceblocks at school)

and the grand total

91 cans and $182

Boy MoNDAy

the small Superhero and I set off on a scooter ride

some jump practice

and some morning tea sustenance

                                                        checking out some street art

then off to the Domain for some tree climbing

and lunch with Mama

and some soccer

after school we made a wee production line

to make these for the Christmas Bake Stall

at Harriets school

I had printed off some labels

but we needed more

so handmade these

which I think turned out better than the printed ones

Over the Week

a little glimpse of Christmas

out the bus window

some new fabric just waiting to become

shorts for small boys

a very wet Saturday

and a walk to the park with Mama

heading off on an adventure

with cousin Lenny

to the Ice Cream Palour

where Mama had vouchers

for giant Sundaes

a Superhero home again

on a sugar high

all that rain made for

pretty sunsets

and another glimpse of Christmas

in the late afternoon sun

think this might be for the Santa Parade

but was quite surreal to capture it

in the warehouse beside Billy's Capoeira lesson

Recent Finds and Sewing

Arlo modelling the wee Super Charlie cape

I made for his friend's birthday present

a present for one of Harriet's friends

she recently lost her Grandmother 

and her Mother gave me some fabric from her Grandmothers Stash

so I used some of it to make a wee bunting

with her name in felt letters

and a matching purse

much cheaper then some Oppy prices these days

I think I need to find a 40s starlet picture of a Gloria

Harriet has a birthday invite for this weekend

for twin friends of hers

and requested I make them purses too

the best $5 I have spent in a long time

at the St Kevins Sunday market last week

all washed and ready for me to add backing to

so many fabulous fabrics

and also for my $5 this Popeye & Olive cushion cover

still deciding whether to put a cushion in it 

or used to make something else
