In case anyone reading is new to my little part of the world I thought I'd put in a little explanation of Boy Monday. It started 2 yrs ago when I realised Billy only had a year left before starting school and I wanted one day a week to be just about adventures for him. The idea was on a Monday between dropping Harriet to school and pick up we would not run errands or do housework but Billy would get to choose what we did and as far as possible, I would make any suggestion happen.
Sometimes he just wanted to take a 4yr old boy slow, climb every wall, explore every nook and cranny, find treasure
walk around the neighbourhood and to the
Library, sometimes he wanted to go on
a bus, train and boat on the same day, sometimes have a quiet day at home baking. As Arlo was only 1yr old and along for the ride it became known as Boy Monday.
Last year when Billy started school I carried on with Arlo but at just turned 2yrs he really wasn't able to decide on a whole day's adventure so it was more about me repeating some of Billy's or thinking of fun places he would like to go.
This year however he totally gets the concept of a day of me all to himself and choosing what we can do.

His first request was go to Peter's (Alleluya Cafe)

then he wanted to go to the $2 shop for another favourite of his

next he wanted to go to the park so knowing there was an unexplored park near us with a little water feature and being a hot sunny morning I asked if he wanted to go to a water park...he did

then in the middle of the inner city we found this Heron visiting the park

we didn't get home till nearly 2pm, just time for a nap before school pick up
