At 1yr old Arlo has taken a few steps on his own, a few days before his birthday, but has now decided crawling is the way to go and he's really fast and also very good at climbing.
He seems to be able to communicate almost all his needs with dis,dat and dere (this, that and there) with lots of pointing but if they fail he will try Elllaaa as he seems to think she can fix most things for him. He also has mama, mum mum, dadda, Hattie and Billy. Other words include cat, dog, car, book, yoghurt and strawberry.
His favourite things are really anything his older siblings are playing with which at the moment is hotwheels cars, duplo blocks, zoo animal play and kitchen play although he is very keen on the ballpop he got for xmas.
Cheeky would probably be the best word to describe him and he has the best laugh when Isabella, Harriet and Billy play games with him.
His least favourite thing is the word 'no', if you say it to him his face dissolves and he folds himself in half and sobs like his little heart is broken, often his family laugh at him when this occurs and inform him is is number four and there are enough drama queens in the house already.
He has just started at daycare two days a week, it is the same one the girls went to and Billy is at now, we love the staff but it was hard to take our 1yr old along last week. The others all started at 2yrs because they didn't have any under 2 places until 2yrs ago. Although his name had been down since Ang was pregnant we still weren't quite ready for a place to come up but it was a case of take the place or wait at least another year for one. Billy has been an amazing big brother looking after him and the times he has been a little unsettled Billy coming to the baby room has made him happy. He seems to like the opportunity to do lots of waterplay and get into messy things like the paint. This also means Ang starts back at work next week and sadly our year of having one parent at home full time has come to an end..it sure does make it easier to run a household that way . Life is set to get very busy with school and almost all the smalls activities starting in the next week or two. Luckily Ang's hours are not fulltime.
Arlo has the best smile and is a delight to all of us but we really think he shouldn't be growing up so fast and should stay our baby just a little bit longer
