Sol's party

Big Congrats to Jenna

on being the CMWC female champ

Some recent craftiness

After years of shopping for girls clothes it was a shock to discover how limited the choices are for boys so i have been making lots of tees and pants for Billy. This is a little sample of recent pants I've made him. I recycle old pants and jeans and add screens or badges or use op shop vintage fabric finds. The punk pirate pants were made from a 'lovely' pair of op shop pants. I have also made Kahi, Sol, Harriet and her friend Madeline pairs of pants.

Library Books

At our house library books have a habit of disappearing..possibly to the same place socks go..just at the time i need to return them and mysteriously reappearing a week later when they have a nice lot of fines accumulating. Either that or I just can't remember which books we got out when it comes to finding them all, and the nice paper print out the library gave us has also gone into hiding...or I just plain forget the date they are due back. Over the years I have probably paid enough in library fines to build a small library myself. Our friendly librarian suggested this useful website a month or so ago and I have to say we have not had a late or lost book, or a fine since, so if library books suffer the same fate in your house check it out and sign up.

Mangawhai

To celebrate the Queens Birthday we...

headed up north to Mangawhai with friends for the long weekend. We spent time finding treasures in secondhand shops, looking at galleries, playing scrabble, watching DVDs and hanging out at the beach. The bigger girls loved the sand dunes and Billy loved the 'puddles' as he called the pools left by the tide. Despite being winter and arriving on the beach in thermals and gumboots he left each day in bare feet and a very wet singlet.
