Finally an update.....
i have been a bit remiss in updating the blog, part of the reason is our laptop is again in the place laptops go when they shutdown on you every five mins and our software for downloading off the camera is on the laptop, partly life is very busy with the start of the school year.
Miss Isabella is...
* loving being a year 8 at intermediate, studying short stories by Patricia Grace and Saki, learning German, and getting great marks
*back doing year 3 at Saxaphone
*trialling for netball again but this year I won't be coaching as the games clash with Bollywood for Harriet, Luckily she should be able to get a lift to the games with her grans
* has been published in our local paper

Miss Harriet is...
Nearly 5 YEARS OLD
although she is very ready for school I'm not quite ready for my baby girl to be 5.
We have been doing some school visits at her new school, a central city school with a small roll of only 240, she will be in a class of 13 kids. We can walk from our place although after being very excited to walk she complained it was too far on the first day. We are really happy with the school having been dissapointed she couldn't attend isabella's old school due to zoning. The principal is a dyke, the school has a committment to every child being bilingual in Te Reo, some of the the schools values are
A school community where te tiriti o Waitangi is the foundation document.
A school community where guardianship/kaitiakitanga and care of the environment/taiao is valued and practiced.
A school community where all contributions will be valued.
A school community where a whanau culture is encouraged and supported
A school community where children develop the pride and confidence to stand strong in the world
A school community where te reo Maori me ona tikanga are integral.
It feels like a really good fit for Harriet and our family and she seems to be at the same level in terms of literacy and numeracy as the kids already in her class. She starts officially on the first day of the 2nd term, April 23rd.
* bollywood dancing has started again with Harriet being excited to learn new dances for a big show in September
*Bollywood is also the theme for the big five year old party we are planning. She is going to have a joint party with one of her little friends and her Bollywood teachers are going to come and perform and teach the kids a dance
Billy is...
a little monkey...a very cute monkey but into everything. He will be 15 months old this week. His favourite words are more, again, and wow which he says with great enthusiasm when he sees something exciting. Gran says he said 1,2,3 go when she had him at the top of the slide the other day. He is walking round holding your hands but not quite up to it on his own. He has 1yr old molars which are giving him some grief coming through.
* we had a big party on the 3rd to celebrate his first year/anniversay of his naming day. Most of the pics are still waiting for download but below are some from Isabella's camera. His Aunty Glen was able to come and had a great time joining in pass the parcel with the kids. Will post some of his Hi5 cake when they are downloaded
* he is still a Hi5 addict and changes the TV channel to try find it or simply turns the TV off at the power source if Harriet is watching something different.
* Crawls up to something he knows he shouldn't touch, reaches out his hand and says 'no,no, no' shaking his head.
