Grey Thursday

The grey wet skies today meant that by mid afternoon inside activities at Gran's for 5 small people had all been done

and a trip out was in order

to burn off a little energy

and a few crazies






and some silliness




before heading for some afternoon tea

School Hols

A play date with a friend, making and icing Chocolate Afghans

and a large work of art created outside our house

which was still there the next morning


modeling a bag made for a school friend of hers who loves planes and whose birthday she went to today

but first a cafe date in the sun

the small boys, Isabella and I planted up our veggie garden this afternoon





Billy is hoping his strawberries will be ripe by morning

The first day of the holidays and all the cousins were together, we sat down to sort out our day and as the rain promised to stay away I gave them the choice of repeating our train and boat adventure to Devonport with a chance to play on the beach this time, or picking favourite picnic food and heading to a beach for the day, the conversation went
Sol ..but isn't there a beach at Devonport
Harriet...and a Supermarket
Me...so you want to combine the two ideas
A chorus of yes
I had to give them credit for initiative and all agreeing so off we set for the train station with a list of everybody's favourite things in Harriet's pocket for the shopping

I was impressed with their lunch choices, each small person wanted to pick their favourite fruit, drink and something from the bakery to have along with buns, tomatoes and avocadoes

which made for a very yummy picnic

than it was down to the stone jetty for stick throwing and rock climbing

before a stop at the lollie shop and heading back towards the wharf


with a stop for afternoon tea

some throwing of carefully collected rocks and sticks off the wharf

collecting more down on the beach before the ferry arrived


and watching all the "bubbles" on the way home

and those strange things not seen on this blog for awhile, blue sky, sunshine and little bare arms poking out of tee shirts
