First Day at School

today was Harriets first day at big school as she calls it , she was more than happy to wave us off and reports she had a 'great day and I liked jump jam best'. She was a bit exhausted by the end of the day and blithering mess is probably an accurate description of how she was by bedtime but she is excited to go again in the morning.

BOLLYWOOD PARTY

harriet shared her big 5th birthday party with her best little friend madeline, it was great for us to only do half the party work although ang, jo and I were up to midnight the night before adding more bling to the birthday cakes...we think they turned out pretty well and the girls loved them.We hired our local community hall and had harriets dance teachers come along and perform. Most of the kids came dressed up and Isabella and her big friend added bindis and henna style tattoos to all the kids. You'll notice that any photo taken is an opportunity for harriet to pose in one of her bollywood dance moves, infact it is hard to get a pic where she isn't posing...prehaps we should look at modelling.... Now we just have the excitement of school starting on monday

Happy 5th Birthday Miss Harriet Priya

Harriet was 5 on wednesday, as seems to be the tradition in our house she is having an extended birthday. It started the friday before with a gran and barb's present, painting her own plate and mug, her plate is 3 strawberries sunbathing at the beach. On the day of her birthday mama stayed home from work and she had presents in the morning than we took morning tea into her preschool. The theme was dinosaurs, if you had asked me what cake I would be making for Harriet's 5th birthday I would not have imagined dinosaurs but she has become fascinated with them in the last month, especially T.Rex. Tonight was her family party and Cha cha ji and sara even came up from wellington for the event. The celebrations continue on the 15th with a big Bollywood themed party with all her friends which she is sharing with her best little friend. Excited would be an understatement, she is very thrilled to be 5
