Boy Monday

no requests for the Oppy this week
it was all about swimming and scootering
we had to drop something to Mama in Parnell
so we headed down to Judges Bay

he did a little swimming
but had more fun with this big stick
and a small toy he found on the beach

and a little train spotting

a walk along the wharf
some light refreshment
and some scootering and playing at the park

before an afternoon swim

Arlo will spend ages making up his own little games
and is quite happy to entertain himself if you are sitting close by
after school there was some car washing

Weekly Vintage

it's been a crazy busy week
between work
 sorting stuff for the renovation
parent teacher interviews
activities starting again for the small people
and super hot days
these are all I've managed to snap this week

Me with Arlo on Monday
Dress- vintage polka dots from The Bread and Butter Letter
a close up of the pattern
lots of time spent at pools in the afternoons
and another vintage dress at the pools below
I would love the loungers for our deck

Arlo on Thursday
JonJon- still fitting after being brought from here for his 2nd birthday
I really think it will have to be retired after this summer
don't think I can send him to school in it next year

and wearing this gorgeous little retro jumpsuit today
found at Savemart
am thinking I need to add some of my vintage scout badges
for a more Moonrise Kingdom vibe

1st Boy Monday for 2013

this was the first Monday Arlo and I had a chance to
get back into our Boy Monday Tradition
something I started in Billy's last year before starting school
a day where the boys get to choose what we do
with no errands or house chores on my part
this is also his last year before school
(not sure where that time went either)
we started with a coffee on the go
and I asked him what he wanted to do
'go to the oppy's'
I know this would seem like my choice
of the perfect way to spend a Monday
but I didn't suggest it at all
it seems he too loves to explore the Oppy's
he loves to find the box of toys and look for treasures
we started at St Vinnies in Kingsland
where he found some books

then headed to Avondale
where he always likes to check out the giant spider
as well as the Sally Army Shop

next up was a 'new to us' Oppy close to where we are staying

little treasures in hand
the best find of the day
horse glasses he spotted behind the glass counter  in Avondale
a $1 each
and my best find at the local Oppy
an old school milk bottle holder
for 50c
Arlo also found this wee pony there
and this Tee at St Vinnies

which he wore the next day
he then decided a swim was in order
so we picked up togs before school pick up
and headed to the Grey Lynn Pool

I shan't mind at all if he picks the Oppy next Monday as well
