A Week at the Beach

pictures below from our fabulous week at the beach. We went away with 4 other families to a beach house we hired about 3 hrs north of Auckland. There were 10 adults and 10 children, Isabella the oldest, Billy the youngest and 4 of harriet's little friends, as well as 3 other little boys. The kids had a ball together, we were across the road from one beach and within 10 mins drive from several others. They swam, played, put on concerts, had a disco and some days we felt like we didn't see them all day. Isabella learnt to snorkle and sea kayak and spent alot of time boogie boarding at the surf beach, two of her school friends were also up north so she caught up with them. The lack of photos of her is due to the fact she was out in the water most of the time. Harriet loved being part of a posse of five little girls and also spent alot of time in the water. The girls bathed, ate and had their hair done together. Billy spent most of the holiday being cuddled by numerous 'aunties' and working on chubbing up, especially his cheeks and chins.
It was great for us, we had a cooking roster where one couple did meals each day so the other days you didn't have to worry about meals, just enjoy them. We also had two afternoons off without kids, each day two couples would take off and do adult things while everyone else did childcare. It was a great hol and Harriet was definately missing her little friends today.
